Ok so I know that a 600 mile round trip isn’t that much compared to the amount of miles folk cover on here but for me & the vee it’s quite a lot as I only ever use the car at weekends & the odd occasion after work..
After leaving Essex about 11.30am on Saturday, I arrived in York some 230 miles away about 4 pm (stopped once on the way as I was hank marvin, as always lol)
I did a tank to about 250 or so miles, the drive was mainly sprinted & I was averaging 27 mpg on the motorway:dapprove:
I got totally handed my arse on the way up, I was doing a good fair rate of knots when an 07 reg Jag xkr supercharged thing which I’d passed ages ago came steaming up behind me, I was about to move over when he just rounded me (undertook me) and shot off.
I slowed down and a white bmw 3 series comes flooring it along behind me blue lights on the go, it’s the po po ! I moved over & they too shot off, they could have been after jag man but I’m not sure as I didn’t see them or him again.
As there was a meet planned for 11 am on Sunday I had to make sure that I was up in time and in a state to drive (Saturday nights drinking was very very heavy & a late one:approve: )
I met with Laura & Max then we met the others in Leeds, after a quick pit stop in McDonalds I was feeling good. We then all headed off to a park for some more pics & banter, well I say we a few of the others got a bit lost, lol.
After departing Leeds I headed back to York to see my aunt (the whole point of going up there, apart from meeting the northern folk)
Yesterday I left York & headed off to Birmingham for the bullring. On the way there I achieved my best mpg ever from the car – 35.4 !!! That was with sprinted driving too, happy days. Average speed was about 69 mph too
As I parked the car at the Bullring in Birmingham, it ticked round to 33,000 miles.
Me being me & having never been there before didn’t know exactly which car park to use, I ended up parking in the Edgebaston st one, my god it’s so damm tight! I had to reverse a few times to get round the bends lol !!
I left Birmingham at 11am this morning & arrived home about 1.30 with an average mpg of 30 the average speed is down for 45 mph.
I managed to sit behind the police in their ford tourneo doing 90 on the M25 too
I was going to make a comment such as "in all that it never missed a beat" but tbh, I don't see why it would go wrong.
The front end has about a million dead flies on it, apart from those the cars still really clean (I had it washed on Friday so it was spanking )
