If your going to do trackdays etc then brake upgrade is a must.
RSTuner remap perhaps too.
A smaller steering wheel is a good upgrade too!

Does this have any benefits without an exhaust upgrade and/or induction kit?

Yes it does. My exhaust and induction is standard, and have noticed positive difference, including better mpg lol!
What's the cost for the remap? Are we talking in the region of £300?

There was one for sale for £95 in the for sale section, not sure if its sold though.

Forgive my ignorance but I have very little knowledge on the RS Tuner. Could you please elaborate on what it is exactly and how it works??
