Solid top mounts & strut brace question

Car  Megane 265 Cup
Just wondering, is a strut brace used to stiffen things up for example if you just have the standard rubber top mounts? What I mean is, are solid top mounts doing the same job as a strut brace? Is it one or the other or do some people use both?

solid top mounts do not have rubber bushes which flex under suspension load.
The strut brace stops the inner wings flexing under suspension load.

yes one is stopping unwanted suspension movement, the other is strengthening the body to stop the chassis flexing.
