some sort of knocking squeek nosie

eveyrtime i drive my car it makes some sort of knocking squeeking noise from under the gearleaver, well aroudn that place. it only happens when the car jolts, i.e. when changing gear, accelerating then decelerating. My mate said it could be the dogbone mount, can someone confirm this please, and are they hard to change
