Some Uninsured C**T just went into me

  Tangoed Works
so pissed off man, i know my insurance is going to be unaffordable next year. Does anyone know about the MIB scheme. The police said that if you go through the insurance they claim the money back from there. Will this mean I lose my NCB. I am due to have 2 this december, will all be lost? Im under the impression that it will, but does anyone have any good news?

Cheers Guys

same happened to me mate, it took about a year and a bit to sort it via the MIB. have you been injured at all? i had whiplash, i think they only take it on board if you are injured? i got my ncb back but like i say, it took a while.

Prepare for some hassle and a long wait, but you should get there in the end!

Im with elephant, after doing a search there are some mixed views as to how they go about dealing with claims. Am I better off doing nothing and just paying for it myself or shall I do it the way the police said?

F**king hate people like that who dont give a sh*t about other peoples things or what happens to them , police will prob only give emm a fine and ban and take there car , theyll be back out next day with another £50 banger should be locked up for it

My bro had his car smashed up by someone uninsured. Get the person that smashed it up to pay for it, not you. If they can't afford it then make sure they have to pay for it somehow, getting a fine and whatever for not being insured. Don't let them get away with it, or they'll never learn

This is the problem with this country...you pay through the nose for insurance, etc. yet some scrote, drives around without any insurance, and if they get caught, they get £50 fine or something, and a slap on the wrist! If they are gonna drive without insurance, then chances are that they will drive without a license OR insurance. They need proper incentives to make people pay (or at least stop them from not paying) their insurance. If you spend say a grand a year for life on insurance, and someone pays fook all for insurance, they hit you, and get a £500 fine, its still £500 or so LESS than they would have paid with insurance!!!

Am I just ranting inanely, or does anyone agree with this viewpoint?

If you can't afford the insurance, you can't afford the car, or to drive!

Just got of the phone to elephant they were really helpful. I have about 6 months left on my policy and the lady said that it should be sorted within 1-2 months as per normal, but obvioulsy these things can take longer. Got the guys phone and address and the police verified it. They are going to take mine in for repair and I have to pay the £400 excess.

The legal team will then start persecuting the owner of the other car for the cost of the repairs and my excess. Fingers crossed it all goes well and I get it all sorted within that time. The geeza was really sorry and the officer didnt let him drive away and said hes looking at minimum 6 points (in his case loss of licence)! So there is some justice. Im sure he will pay up and all will be sorted.

Thing is last time someone went into me and it wasnt my fault, my policy still went up! Hopefully still be on 2 yrs NCD this December. Arrghhh 6/6/6 has struck me!

The courts decide what puishment to give, nothing to do with the Police!!!

Sorry to hear that mate, good luck.:)

This sickens me...

People like us pay bloody insurance, but wasters/junkies/animals like these drive around the streets un-insured...wtf? How is this allowed to happen...

Personally (if it was me and i had his address, i would go round and ask him nicely to pay for the damages out of his manky wee pockets) Thats assuming its a guy..?

The insurance will hump you for the slightest thing nowadays...Its a no-win situation with these companies...dirty b******s..

breath...

Absoloutley gutted for you mate, there's just no justice at all, makes you want to just fúck it all off. Hope you get it all sorted without too many problems and at least the c**t was decent enough to stop and give his details etc, most of them would of been straight off.

Found out who he is, where he lives and go smash up his car :p. Then just pay for the damage on yours yourself (if its affordable) so you keep your ncb.

I hope you do get it sorted mate but a similar thing happened to my car....

I'm with Elephant and although the car got sorted quickly it has been 4 months since the accident and I still haven't got my excess or no claims back. Elephant had even increased my policy at renewal time until I phoned them and told them I wasn't happy at all with that. The guy that crashed into my car hasn't acknowledged any correspondence and this made me think he was uninsured. However got told last week he IS insured and with Elephant too! They are supposedly giving him one last chance and if he doesn't reply in 2 weeks then I am getting the claim settled in my favour with a return of my excess and no claims. Get ready for a few phone calls mate

here's something that will make you feel even better. It costs less to get fined a few times than to insure yourself on an RS.

A guy at work got done for driving without a license and also without insurance. To be fair it was only on his road and he had no intention of driving anywhere! What was his fine... £250!! it cost me 5 times that to insure mine for a year, what a crock of...

Thanks for all the support guys, he was in another clio. Will get some pics for tonight. The rear drivers side alloy will need to be replaced / refurbd, new rear quarter, new sill and side skirt, new door skin and new door mouldings from what i can see. The wanker lives 5 minutes from where I work in Rainham.

R30BC, cheers for the offer mate, if I have any queries with Elephant you will be my first port of call! I think the vigilante part will be left up until the point he decides not to pay!! LOL. Im sure he will though. Solicitors phoned this morning, they are now on the case.

Just so pissed off having to drive around in a fuked up car after I spent ages polishing it on the weekend as well.
