Some very strange events from yesterday...

So yesterday I took the Clio out to do some shopping. After roughly 7 miles of diving I started to get a strange groaning/creaking noise while turning at slow speeds. I assumed a ball joint/cv joint somewhere.
However later in the evening I went out with a few mates; the noise was still present.
Then as I was driving home, the car was losing power and fuel could be smelt very strongly. Yup, a leak! Or so i thought, after checking it turns out that one of the hoses had slipped off, I'm assuming its for fuel injection. Its located underneath the oil filler cap. I cleaned up the fuel and re-attached the hose to get home; and the creaking has now stopped.

I'm stumped as to what has happened tbh!

Renault gremlins, pretty common fault.

my old saxo vtr used to do that every now and then. driving along and the fuel line would fly off under the bonnet. car would die (obv, derp), so would need to get out push the pipe back in
