Something Strange inside the Glovebox..

Found a keyhole the other day inside the glovebox, what is it for? Ive got two keys for it which makes the it turn but doesnt seem to do anything.

anyone know what it is for?

btw its a mk1 phase 2

I think the glovebox one is to turn the alarm on and off. (don't know what the key looks like as I haven't got one!)

Under the flappy bit where the washer bottle is is another keyhole - this just turns the siren on and off. (should be a small key with a black plastic holdy-bit.)



edit: The glovebox one turns with the other key in mine but it does just seem to spin the whole lock rather than just the mechanism itself, so yours might be the same, hence no effect!

I think my mates RT had that, thought it was the imobiliser.

strange, as far as im aware the car has no alarm, the imobiliser is an after market one i think...

ive got the same thing, i have a mk1 ph1 but i have an aftermarket alarm and immobiliser.
anyone have any clue as to what it is yet?

its the immobiliser mate, if ur not sure use the key and see if it works.

i don have a key for mine, it a sort of weird looking hole like the rond hings with a pin inside like on vending machines.

nothing happens when i use the key, the barrel turns but nothing different happens :S
