Something wrong with my car.

I have a problem with it.

When I go round a corner it feels quite light and tends to understeer and feel light at the front end. Furthermore if I push even slightly more the back end comes round. At first I thought I had it wrong but as daft as it sounds I went out to see if I did and provoke it slightly. Both corners in question were right handers. One a sharp the other a longer one which steepens out at the end.

The first when at the apex and accelerating it would feel as if it would slip and the back end go light.

The second was a bit sharper but not going as fast and the rear end came straight out.

Tyre pressure have been checked 33/31 and I have legal tread. It's a few mm from the wear indicators? Bit concerning really.

Few different corners tbh. So I know it's not the road.

PE2's not budget.

The car never used to be like this, used to be very planted. Not sure why it's occuring. I'm not remotley pushing anywhere near as hard as I used to.

I thought like the 182's the rear dampers maybe leaking but from what I've been told not much experience of this on the T's

Hmm my tyres are approaching the wear indicators - not too far away a couple of mm maybe. Will this make it handle very adversley as someone said PE2's go off very quick near the limit but I'm not sure about that.

I suppose if it's making my car handle this adversely it must be pretty simple and apparent. Hopefully the guys at Birchdown will help me out.

Not had the fronts refurbed yet. Was planning on having that done sometime over the summer. Tbh, it doesn't really feel like a front issue but I could be wrong. It's like it's on tip toes.

I have looked at the rear shocks, only by getting on my hands and knees and looking at the rear of the shock and they look dry with no oil. Furthermore I ran my hand up behind the wheel on the shock where I could and there wasn't any wet oil just a bit of dry mud type substances.

Ive got pretty much the same problem as you. Back end feeling very light and handling was pretty awful. Took the the rear shocks off on saturday and the passenger side one had no resistance compared to the driver side one, so my shock was away. I'm picking up 2 new ones from reno tomorrow ( for a discount price :D ) and hopefully with them two fitted it should solve the problem.

it wont feel like its the front but it most probably is
i reckon a combination of work bushes an ball joints

Sounds daft, but have you squished the back up and down?

I had a rear shock go on 29k on one of mine. Handling felt just like that, and no oil or anything could be seen/ felt, shock looked fine when i took it off. It was almost empty though, so god knows where it had gone.

Squished the back up and down, impossible to tell really. Not even sure what difference I should be seeing. All I can hear is the gas or air compressing as I do it.

Low on thread... shock fooked?

I have the same problem mate!

Only when cornering to the right... it's starts skating a bit at the rear depending on speed and turn in.
My right shock is not working 100% (leakage?) the wheels sounds crashy when riding over uneven roads so definitely damping stroke not working as it used to be.

BIG service due up so all will be tackled.
(needing new rear rotors/pads, dogbone mount and gearbox seal)

And it feels more like understeer...
