somethings not right

  Clio 197
I don't give a s**t some you lot, cos of my spelling or pissing me off, I think some of you just want to be a dick head. Well done CS mods to deleted it for sorting this problem.

I was right they were planing to steal my car or break in to my house, those guys didn't think I was at home. My mum talking to the police on the phone now, I'm not really happy at all & I just got a feeling they may will come back for new plan:dapprove:

Think I have to block my car or leave it at my mate house.

  BMW 330D
There is some really good advice on here Giles. Personally if it was me id block your car in with another or get a wheel clamp.

  1.6 focus zetec....
Block your car in, remove all valuable belongings, keep the doors open as fubar said to prevent damage and get down to your local sports store to invest in a baseball bat... Thats my personal opinion anyway but everyones different!!

I know i wouldnt be able to sleep all night thats for sure

Either block it in or put a steering lock on. A visiual deterant. Or loosen a few wheel nuts.

Get an IP camera set up that will record on motion OR take high quality pictures every second/10 seconds etc. I have this set up on my house as I want no t**t going anywhere near my car AND if they do, I would like to know who it is.

How much are these? Are they wireless? I would be interested in doing this.

I personally have 2 wired, one is a PTZ (Pan-Tilt-Zoom), the other is a stationary one pointing at my car. These are the first IP camera's I have had so cannot really comment on any others. I use the Panasonic BL-C1 and BL-C10 range. They are good but could be probably be better. The best thing about them is the camera can be accessed from anywhere (pc based) as Panasonic give you your own domain. You can also access them on your phone. I went to Amsterdam not long back and I accessed them from over there, mind you I did build myself a small website to quickly view the buffered images.

For the Panasonic BL-C1 I paid £45 from a online PC store. And for the BLC10 I paid £85 from eBay. All Panasonic cameras come in wireless but they cost a lot more.

think we have to get one of those for safe reason

fingers crossed that you walking over when they were there will have deterred them a little but generally all the ideas on here are good (except maybe the ricin???) and so just try and keep it blocked in and you'll be fine.

Giles, a good step would be putting in a motion sensitive halogen light thing. You'd be surprised how effective they can be, fecking bright too :D

  A Beautiful R32
Giles, i had this with my old 172 and here's what i did.

firstly after the people had gone i went out and took everything out of the car that was valuable. Then i left the car unlocked overnight, in the knowlege that if they were going to break in, i would make it easy for them to save damage to the car.

I also took date and timed photo's of the suspect's cars (i even posted them on here if you remember?).

The morning came and i rushed out there to see what the result was... and nothing had happened.

I hope you're as lucky as me mate.

Don't do that! tusk tusk Fubar!

If you leave your car unlocked it will be uninsured...

Block it in and call the coppers...

TBH Giles, if you saw them then they will probably not come back.

Take one wheels off, leave the car on an axle stand overnight. They'll get the message if they come back mate. Also, sleep on your keys!

Seems odd they're going to this much effort for a clio, stealing to order maybe?

I know a mate of mine who was in the same kind of situation with his motor........ so he attached razor blades under the door handles. In the morning there was blood down the door ha ha.

stupid idea. I can see them kicking the s**t out of the car once they've cut their hands as revenge.

I thought that too..

Giles is there anywhere else you can park the car for a couple of nights? Some good suggestions on here, hope it'll be ok.

Giles will be the first to tell you it's 1 of a 1000 ;)

I've never had someone try to steal my car but it has been vandalised twice, keyed bonnet and windows smashed. It makes you feel really on-edge at any noise outside so I really feel for you mate!

My girlfriend had trouble when some t***s kept breaking into her 106. We got the motion sensor cameras but the trouble is when you catch someone on them and even if you work out who it is the police will do jack s**t about it as they need 'witnesses'.

Do RSI's have alarms?

There is a better solution:

I'd clamp it mate. They'll get tired soon and move onto something else. Get a proximity sendor on it too, and turn the sensitivity right up :D

my car block up now it can't go any way & got disc lock on too. I spoke to the guy this evening the own the mk1 v6 the one I drove it last week. He said I can leave my car at his garage & park it next to his v6. For the safe place in case.

It not been a good day for me, ah well s**t happen!

sure it will be aight, they saw u noticed them there, pluss your blocking it in.

its not a ferrari so once they have seen ure on to them they probs wont take to risk if its in a hard position to move.

good luck.

What a load of rubbish. CCTV is the witness, thats the whole point, all the police need is someone to identify them from the tape. If you cant identify them they will circulate the description until someone does (and the chances are a local policeman/woman would recognise them if they are known scrotes). So if you or anyone else work out who it is they can be arrested.

tbh cctv is pretty s**t, you need a crystal clear face ID for it to be worth anythin really, buttt its a good deterent.

if there s cam watching the car it may scare them

  RARE Unmolested Corsa sxi
or... get a motion detector light and aim it at your car. you will be surprised how effective these are.they would scare off any would-be pikey scum bag thief.

  Clio 172 mk2
Hahaha maybe your paranoid.

... and maybe you are a strap on?

Giles - sounds like they are eyeing it up for the steal mate, this s**t goes on round me too. Happened at my mates before, 2 cars pull up outside his house, few blokes start looking in through the window and this happened more than once. Don't know if you want to hear the conclusion to this so i'll stop, but dont take it lightly just in case, as said, block it in with another car.

... and stop picking on Giles you bunch of f**king fags

Agree

Take precautions to stop it happening....better to be safe that sorry and you'll be gutted if you don't do anything and it does happen.

Make sure you get the reg of their car as well next time they come snooping around.

  172 MKII FF
Wait for them to come again and just take a series of photo's. If you like or think it will deter them, let them see you doing it.

  RB 182
As mentioned... Take pictures and car details if poissible! Pop over to your local police station and give them as much information as you can, this way they can do background checks and if the worse did happen, you have some information for them to act quickly on!

If they seemed put off now, that doesn't mean they will never come back. Alot of car theft happens a few weeks or even a month after initial probing around. If they know your car is there the same time every night/day then they wont target it straight away. Especially if they have been caught snooping around!

If you know anyone with a video camera then set it up for a few nights, just note down every time you see these chaps, what time they were there, what the men looked like, that they were doing, car colour, reg, etc... DONT Try to confront them! If they are bent and dodgey then the last thing you want is for them to kick up a fuss with you.

Tell the police NOW! at least it will be on record incase the worst were to happen. The last thing you want is to wake up with your car gone and no information on the situation, you will be all worried and probably forget everything that may be key evidence for the police. So make notes chap!

I think letting them see you take pictures is a bad idea. If they are a bunch of kids then it will scare them off. But the last thing this fella wants is to be a target of a group beating! Dont P**s them off, its too risky, IMO

  182 RB FF
Sorry Giles I don't know what car you have but in the 182 you can disconnect the fuel from under the backseat. Maybe worth giving it a go if this is what you have.

  Clio 182
Depending on the car, take the lead that disconnects the dizzy to the ht leads, watch em try start it then ;)

  Clio 197
police want to know why the bad guys know where I live & how they I got a nice car too. Only reason it could be to do on cliosport putting pics up of my car & show the background where I live. Or could be those guys drove pass few house to see no one in & break into the house.

So I better watch out for it!

thanks everyone for help

Personally I don't think they'll come back - you probably spooked them when you went outside to see what they were up to. But I can see why you're worried. And stick with Cliosport Giles - the majority of people on here aren't assholes.
