Sometimes my car randomly wont start!

ok this is my new problem now! (really getting pissed of with the hybrid! lol) basically sometimes when i turn the key the fuel pump primes (i can hear it whirr) then when i go to crank the engine there is nothing at all! this happens mayb 1 or 3-4 times then it starts fine! its happened to me 3 times now! sometimes it wont happen at all! there doesnt seem to be any sort of immobiliser light on the dahs which was my initial though. im thinking that it may have soemthing to do with my initial alternator problem: http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?t=235648

i checked the haynes wiring diagram and it seems the feed to the starter motor is also connected to the alternator somehow!

any ideas?

Check the starter motor wiring mate. One of my connections was bad and would occasionally not crank. b*****d to get to but should be able to get an arm down there.

Mine died today, had to push it off the dyno! Seems to be the pump i think as the rely is working, maybe the same.

starter motor.. my mk1 RT had a problem with the wiring, loose connection

My mk2 ph1 had this, not starting sometimes and then cutting out when it felt like it. Mechanic cleaned the crank sensor? (im no mechanic) never had it again.
