Soooo annoyed !!

Car  RB clio 182
I bought some OZ f1's off of a member on here.

Before buying them, I asked him if there was any damage to the wheels ie - buckles previous repairs or cracks.

He replied basically saying no there's not because I wouldn't of bought them if there was.

So I bought the wheels. Excited for them to arrive and get them balanced and check over.

Received the wheels, took them to a garage to get them balanced where it turns out that 3 of the 4wheels are buckled to buggery !!!!!!

So I raised a claim on Paypal. Today I have been told that I won the claim BUT to get the money back I need to pay for them to be shipped back to the seller.

Im now worried that its going to be a situation where the seller will not sign for them or something and I will never get my money back :S

Im already 240 odd quid out of pocket as it is and I cant really be dealing with people messing me around. Soo annoying.

Lesson learnt. Im never buying alloys over the net again :banghead:

Name and shame them mate.

And don't let one bad experience put you off from buying and/or selling on here.

There are a lot of genuine people on here, but unfortunately you have to deal with the prícks now and again.

If it isn't too far, drive there yourself and drop them off.

s**t deal..... Unfortunately these things happen, I try and only buy from those who are known on the site nowadays so not to get done by the scammers.

Send them back with recorded delivery or similar. So that someone will have to sign for them on his behalf and there will be proof of delivery. Surely you can't loose out on anything then? Apart from the delivery costs obviously.

But as said, definitely name and shame them mate. Save future buyers dealing with the same problems.

Good luck.

drive them bck to him?

PayPal will probably moan there is no proof.

Best bet, contact him. Tell him you will either drop them off and he can give you cash, or you will post them and PayPal will sort it.

jpbacs12 is the member. Not sure if he intentionally sold them as buckled as im not sure he fitted them to the car but its something you should check for and know before selling wheels to a fellow member as far as im aware unless you are actually telling people they are buckled in your for sale ad!!

I would drive them back to him happily but paypal have to have a tracking number and see that the wheels have been delivered in order to give me a full refund which is why im worried he is just going to not except the delivery and im going to loose out on my money :s

When i bought my OZ f1's one of them was buckled, I hadn't asked if they were straight so I couldn't be bothered raising a complaint about them.

It just seems to be a common theme with oz f1 sales at the moment which is a shame.

Reread what I said mate.

Communicate with him. Tell him there buckled, you can either drop them off, he gives you the cash.

Or, PayPal deals with it.

Or, send him some empty boxes tracked, and deliver them to him?

If he doesn't accept the delivery, you will still have proof of postage so just go ahead and do it.

I completely understand what your saying mate. When I first found out they were buckled I text him telling him the issue and that I wanted to return them to him.

He was having none of it and started with all the buyers politics straight away.

I will try and speak to him and see if we can do it like that first of all but I don't think he will have any interest in resolving it in a "man like" way tbh...

Paypal require proof of postage viewable online before dollar is refunded.

They don't give a fk if you have proof of sending.

Ah fair enough, thought they would have accepted proof of postage.

Been there myself and they wouldn't refund till the courier company had sent a screen shot of the signature to paypal since it wasn't viewable on their website through the tracking portal.

Funnily enough that was over a set of OZ F1s too.

So much effort! Guess it is money after all though.

OP - Go with the empty box filled with rocks idea! :-]

Dont just send a empty box otherwsie on the receipt it will show it weighs like 20gs.. weigh ya wheels.. put in the same weight as the wheels in rocks.. send it away.. when he complains you can say well check my receipt it shows the weight.. not my fault your trying to con me.. all paypal need is a delivery confirmation lol

Exactly this. He's scammed you, get him back, and there isn't a thing he can do about it.

When he complains he can also show screenshots of this thread to backup the fact he only received rocks. Wouldn't shout about it on the internet imho

I was thinking that, but I wasn't going to point it out in case the seller hadn't clocked on he could do that!

Don't panic mate. PayPal always side with the buyer

Hate to say it but they dont always. A few months ago someone bought a set of coilovers, sold as being in good condition with no leaks ect. When the buyer recieved them and fitted them, they were in a dire condition, and during this dumped all the fluid out. I spoke to the buyer a while back who had launched a dispute with paypal, and they threw it out.

More than likley due to the buyers poor effort at a claim.

Word it right and you'll always win.

Apart from read this thread ;)
I've had a similar thing with a turbo a few months back...."perfect condition" apart from the turbo being shot. PayPal actually was on the side of the buyer, being myself :) Just do it above board mate, you'll be fine. They deal with this type of thing day in, day out. They've probably heard every trick in the book to be honest. Anyway, why keep the wheels, you've got the hassle of getting rid of them yourself then and that's a ball ache

Yeah, PM an admin to delete this thread, lol.

I'm just thinking, OP is going to lose the money for delivery which is quite expensive I'm assuming.

Still out of pocket either way.

Im not going to send him a loads of rocks lol. I will send the wheels back to him via recorded delivery with tracking.

Anyone got any reccomendations of a courier to send them with for a reasonable price ?

Thanks for all your replies btw people.

Have you spoken to the seller yet?

I've got 16 of these, and the only straight one is the brand new one. Lead weights ftw.

Haha, yep really quickly! That's the joy of purchasing over the net I guess. Based on trust and se people just aren't trustworthy. Sucks for the honest lot

I don't even think im going to bother contacting him. It will cost me more in fuel to return them than it will to ship them. Plus knowing my luck he will have a clan waiting for me when I get there lol.

I will just send them back via courier. Any ideas on who to send them with ?
