What is the difference (looks) between the 172 and the 182??? (apart from the twin zorst) :dapprove:

I've been studying pics of the 172 and the 182 and I really can't see the difference?

Please help cos I don't know which one to buy if they don't look that much different I might as well buy the 172 cos they're cheaper

never driven a 182 so couldn't comment but it's depateable, comes up on here quite often...

your right tho, the biggest visual difference is the exhaust and the wheels of course...

The visual differences are, wheels, exhausts, seatbelts (silver in 182), and you can get the FF 182 with cup packs, so splitter and spoiler.

Mechanical differences are exhaust manifold and ecu mapping iirc.

I have driven both and can't tell any difference, apart from a cup-packed 182 is slightly stiffer.
On paper, the 182 is slightly quicker.

r get 172 nd put 182 exhaust on from ktec get some 182 alloys remap thr car nd it'll b as fast as a 182 look as gd nd u'll still have a grand r so left

Nothing in it speed wise in a straight line between 182/172.

I've dragged a few Ph2 172's at the local drag strip , and the quarter miles were won by whoever had the best tires / best reaction time.

I'd go for a low mileage 182. My 172 is now on 73K and she's cost me a lot of money the last year.

Yeah that's the only reason I went for a 182.I unfortunately need a reliable car for this year , and picked up a lowish mileage one with some factory warranty left on it.

Not the same car. The Trophy only comes in red, has recaro seats standard, anthracite turini wheels, better suspension, no climate control and no xenons.

There are loads of mechanical differences though, 182 has wider track, different wheelbase, stronger hubs, stiffer suspension, wider tyres as standard, traction control as standard (not all mk2 172s had it) etc etc

I'm so confused on which 182 to buy, what I've learned so far is there's a:
1) 182
2) 182 Cup
3) 182 Cup pack
4) 182 Cup with BOTH packs
5) 182 full fat

Is this right? Is this how many specs of the 182 there are?
I honestly just want the best looking one....
