Sound Quality

Im planning to stick a 10"/12" sub in the back of the car, and then components up front.

If i decked the back fo the car out in chequre plate, and the sub box etc, would this make for sh*t sound quality. The back is defo gonna be chqure plate, but carpet on a sub box just looks outa plate in amongst chequre plate.

Grrr, all my palns are scuppered, maybe ill have to buy that expensive plastic stick on sh*t.

Cheers for the advice fellas, anyoen done anything similar??

i build installs all the time 4 people. i did one where the guy had a stripped out corsa & wanted the install made of chequerplate to match the race look interior. what i did was make the build out of thick solid mdf and fibreglass if needed then bonded on the chequerplate over it like u wud normally use carpet. as long as u stick 2 simple flat shapes & stick it on well it shudnt affect sound quality.

Cool, well i have 12mm mdf decking, whihc is securley bolted in so it dont rattle, will bond the 3mm ali chequre palte to this, will build up sides over the wheel arches, but keeping to flat surfaces, to house two amps. The a sub box mounted in the centre, pointing towards front of car made from 18mm mdf wiht bonded on chequreplate.

The whole of the rear of the car, bottem of boot, sides, boot lid etc will be dynamatted. Also front doors which will house 6.5" components.

Im going for a quality install, rather than volume
