Sound System Suggestions

im wanting new speakers for my cup. I was thinking of a 10" vibe sub with 4 JBL speakers and an alpine 6 channel amp. I already have a good alpine head unit.

Any suggestions would be really helpful, would i be aswell running at least 2 of the speakers off the head unit and getting like a 4 channel amp?

also, has anyone got any pics of their boot install? i want something discreet

cheers

Forget the rear speakers, and put the extra money towards some decent front components.

A 4 channel amp will be plenty, 2 channels for the fronts, and bridge the other 2 for the amp.

i have had a quote for 800 for a full system and wiring including sound insulation with jl audio components. the guy said i wouldnt get a decent system for 500, i was rather surprised by this as i dont need to change my headunit.

If you went for a Vibe active 10" sub, a set of mid level Rainbow components, a JBL 4-channel amp, and a decent £50 wiring kit, that wouldn't cost you much more than £450.

Fitting it is a different matter. It'd obviously cost to get someone to do it.

well the quote was for jl audio and kicker gear, with dynomat soundproofing and all the installs. i only wanted to spend 600 max but the guy said he wouldnt do it for that!

For just over £300 you can have the system above which is far better than what you were thinking of getting. As already mentioned, dont get any rear speakers, waste of time and ruin the soundstage. If you're willing to spend more just go for the models above in the relevant range of brand. You could get the whole lot, plus wiring and Dynamat for £400!

Which JL gear was he giving you?

Some of it is rather expensive but does sound very very nice. And the dynamat can add a big whack on the ppice depending on how much is used.

Was the guy installing this as well or were you going to do it? If he is doing it probably charging you a fair whack for installing it. COuld do it yourself and save £100+ probably.
