South East RR Interest - Lack of....

After everyone had been harping on about getting a South East Rolling Road organised, one has been arranged by Tomboy for March 20th.

It has been in the Meets section now for weeks on end, yet still, only a mere 10 people have committed to coming and it looks like it could be canceled.

I for one have been waiting patiently for a rolling road day, booked time off work in advance and am now all ready for the big day.

I find it EXTREMELY dissappointing that after all the interest people wont travel a few miles or get their arses out of bed to make this happen? Surely not the greatest advert for the club if we have to cancel!

Tonbridge is less than 25mins from the Dartford tunnel and so is easily reachable by people.

Stop pissing everyone about people and make an effort.

the problem is that its a good 50 miles from us chelmsford lot and after much effort from night.icon and Rockport weve found a place asbout 2 miles from us in witham

Im more then up for a decent RR session, and i have a list of others up for it too put there are a number of things that have put people off the one arranged in KENT.

The main one being location i think, as already advised by alex. Some people just dont like going out of there way i spose - consider them lazy b******s if you will but this is how some people are (including myself) - its like some of the clio meets @ southend, some people travel miles out of there way (ie Wales) others are closer but still cant be fussed to turn up. Its just how people are.

Another issue with the arranged RR - lack of feedback on how decent there RR is, for start they cant produce print outs - that in itself would be enough to put most people off. Some rollers over rate figures, some under rate them.

This is were the RR in witham comes in, loads of good feedback - polite & professional response on the phone - they also have the grounds to hold a club - trusted figure readings, and to top it its an ideal location for most that showed interest in the event.

My advise would be to wait for the Witham RR - we should soon have a date.

Some people cant afford to travel 50-60 miles and pay for a rolling road session. Not everyone has money to burn!

Its not easy for us guys to get down to Tonbridge it isnt a convient location exactly the same as Witham isnt for you guys.

Did you come to the last South East meet @ Southend, Tomboy & Suggs had driven from Eastbourne to Southend just to see everyone. Thats over a 2 hour drive.

Its an hour drive for me on a good night, George16v came too and its over an hour for him as well as hes in the centre of London.

Swlech is thinking of coming from Portsmouth. Thats dedication.

My point was if you had limited funds and you had the choice to either go 2 minutes down the road or 50-60 miles for the same thing what would you do?

the point Pete is tryin to make Si is those of us that are part-time such as myself, funds are limited and after forkin out hundreds on a sound system i my budget is limited and would rather not drive 120 miles there and back costin bout £20 in petrol then £25 RR then food and drink £10 so in all an expensive day and about 1/6 of my pay check before all my cards, loans and general spending

Alex/Pete, I wasnt trying to question anyones dedication, I live in a budget, I may own a Cup but at 21, I dont earn alot, and after paying for it each month dont have alot left - seriously sod all and have to save up before I can do anything.

What jon has said is spot on, alot of people wanted this arranged, it has been done so, and now no-one is really fussed... as per my original post - im just gutted/dissappointed.
