Spacers stuck on?

  Ph1 T
While i had my wheels off the other day i noticed the eibach spacers have actually cracked :/

Come to remove then and i cant get them off for the life of me even stood on the ratchet and the bolts just arent budging would heat do anything? allthough i dont want to damage them as ill be returning them from the shop ive got them due to cracking after a few months

Help appreciated

If they are faulty or the wrong size then you can't be responsible for damaged in thier removal. Heat probably won't help. Get your self a breaker bar!

Aluminium oxidises over time, That's why they stick on. You should always use a bit of copper grease in the future.

They are not going to be easy to remove without damaging, Maybe try soaking them in WD40 for a few days.

I know my bad i should of used copper grease which i did on the rear :/.. going to soak them in WD and attach them with breaker bar

Ill post some up in morning. surely there stuck on that tight nothing too drastic could happen (may be wrong)

these the bolt to hub type? I will be fitting some spacers that use extended bolts next weekend, this shouldnt become a problem if I copper grease the surface that comes into contact with the drum then?

Fronts are bolt to hub rears are extended bolts. Used copper grease on the back but ran out when did the fronts, suppose its my fault for been lazy and not fetching any

ah crap :/ did you put it on the surface that meets the back of the wheels? (on the rear spacers)

dont mean to highjack, just want to know for next week....

OT get these pics up asap! :)

No need to put them on the front of the space IMO wheels come off fine and they have been very very hot (track) just where it joins the hub.. I'm just going to go all out on it inamin and if the ratchet snaps or anything will just get a new one under warranty :)

Another trick you could try is, screw the bolts into the hub a few thread but not tight, then bolt the wheel to spacers as normal. Then drive down the road doing a couple sharp turns to try an crack them off.

Plenty of lubricant, heat, and shock always helps.

Another thing you could try is. Lock the disc by either getting some to hold the brake or put a screw driver through the disc and butting it up against the calipar carrier. Then put two bolts in the spacer and get a lever bar between the bolts and try and crack it off that way.

A 17mm socket fits round the spacer bolts so did that with a breaker bar come straight off where as I was using the Allen key socket to try and get them off,, anyway here's the pics ones worst than I first thought..

HOLY s**t! I'd be on the phone to Eibach demanding a refund. That looks slightly bigger than a crack.

When I noticed it first it wasn't that big but that's shocking I'll be into them first thing tommorow and be emailing them pictures can't imagine they will rush to deal with me though

hard to tell from the second pic, but if the crack doesn't run all the way through they would still be usable no? (at least until you get replacements...)

aslong as it is only the 'spigot bit' that is damaged, because that is mainly for locating the wheel bolt holes when putting wheels on no? (it appears as though that is the only bit that is damaged to me)

surely same as running wheels without spigot rings that have a slightly larger centre bore?

Spacers are not something you "Need" to drive a car, So i wouldn't be running them if in any doubt. It's a massive crack.

So you don't think that's too bad :/ ...to me it's shocking

ah no, fair play, was just saying if he wanted to continue running them until the replacements got there it would only be do-able if it was only the 'locator/spigot' that was damaged

dan: not saying its not bad mate, just noting that it only appears that the 'locator/spigot' bit was the only bit damaged...

The spacers are 5 month old still be able to get a refund surely or a new set sent out not bothered

Tweeks have asked me to send them back to be sent to eibach for inspection and will take roughly 4 week before an answer is given. They sent me an email about returning them saying to return in the condition they were sent out in with all the correct wrapping/box ect or they will not accept WTF asif id still have the wrapping after 6 month and how would they possibly be in the condition they came in when there fuc*king damaged!

Im just buying some more going to get FK ones not messing about will send these back anyhow as is and just see what comes from it
