I really wanted a spacesaver for mine, but I didn't want to deviate from the standard wheel offset. Kept looking on google but couldn't find the info. - they're usually just advertised as being for a specific make and model of car, rather than with all the dimensions (PCD, offset, etc.) The obvious choice would be a standard steel wheel from a lesser spec. Clio, but then you need to make sure it's big enough to clear the front brake caliper - if not and you got a front puncture you'd need to fit it to the back, and put the rear (standard alloy) on the front. And the offset probably still wouldn't be right - not the end of the world if it's slightly different but I'd rather keep the loads on the suspension the same.
In the end a colleague pointed out to me that for all my messing around trying to find something different - was I really going to save much weight, and did I use the boot much........er, no to both so I've just bought a secondhand 182 alloy to keep in my boot. And if I do get a puncture I'd rather have a full size spare - less pressure to get the punctured one sorted.
