spark plug colours?

just serviced the car and was wondering what these colours meant?
one plug is white and the other is white/rusty

wow its like they have being in the car ever since it was made lol! lol id say oxidation took place lol! meaning water got into it and when water an bare metal come into contact with the atmosphere! it makes it rust lol! do you have the cover on over the engine??? or have you taken the plastic covering off??

Just a random thought...

which engine? can't really see the tips on them, but generally look ok colourwise (from what i can see)

yes they generally look healthy, and a good sign of a healthy car! ive just serviced mine myself, my spark plugs where oily, but they was not in the condition of yours... yours looks rusted

Has it ever being miss-fiering by any chance?

im not too sure if we are speaking about the colour of the plugs.. or what car the plugs are meant for??

Well i will only use NGK Platinum on my clio sport, as i hear Bosch spark plugs cause the car to be sluggish and miss fire?

Please enlighten me again on the question hehe

and as i stated above on my first post, i do recon they had water in them at some point, as they are ruested and corroded, and this will only happen when water and oxygen come together on bare metal... ?? thats why i asked if the clio was miss - fireing at some point and it made you want to change the plugs

Atleast they're not coated in oil like mine was from the 3rd cylinder

Thought something had gone wrong!

Hopefully Fred will tell us it's something they all do and not to worry about it!

If not i'm changing to a gas flowed 182 cylinder head anyways so can hopefully sort any issues while thats going onto the car!

lol mate! nah its all good my friend heres mine when i replaced it lol

The one furthest to the right, was out the 3rd cylinder the rest where not as bad

then i gave it a little clean after it :

These was taken out of my clio. It is 2005 plate 182 with 34K on.

oil covered plugs on RS clios is common due to the leaky rocker covers, not much you can do about it other than reseal the rocker!

how water gets down there i have no idea (cleaning geeks engines are industrial, engineering, manly type stuff, hose pipes, APC, whatever else you throw at it = bad!!!)

i agree! i did the mistake on my old saxo vts, i put engine degreaser on the engine, to get all the gunk off, sprayed it lightly with a hose , then a few days later, the engine manager light came on, car engine was violently shaking litually, like it was gonna fly out! called the RAC, and they said it had got water into the cylinder, and it caused it to do that , i soon had a light bulb above my head and thought, yea that was my fault when i sprayed it down, and thought i did a good job avoiding the spark plug holes, but oviously not!

But seriously the spark plugs look fine! and if you do clean your enigne bay!

REMEMBER dont be a fool and hose the engine down lol! i was so dumb!

it sort of looks alright lol

that was the beast back in the days that powerfull 120 bhp! lol

yea recently and then the coilpack gave up so i replaced the lot this week

was thinking about oxidation but that would be rust as seen on one plug? would the white mean its salt based?

i was thinking that salt based, like grit / acid? as rain does carry acid? lol im not an expert!
