Spax, Apex or Other??

  FTO GPX 2.0 V6
Hello,

I am looking to get a set of lowering springs shortly, can anyone recommend any? Only want to go up to 40mm at the most.

I have seen the 35mm Spax in a local garage and the 40mm Apex on the internet. Has anyone got either of these?

My car is a 2000 X Mk2 Ph 1 - 1.4 16v with 17" alloys.

Thanks

Glyn

If Eibach do them I'd go for those,
I have found these to be the best in my experience,
other than that I personally prefer Apex to Spax.

I think EvilJohn has them, not certain but he is on a 30/40mm drop on mk2 ph1. I got the -60mm apex kit meself :)

dont think you can get eibach for anything less than a 172, looked for them when I got mine...

But would any work be required with 17" alloys?

no, you can go 60mm drop with no problems on 17's, but you will need dampers aswell. I understand that if you just change the springs then it will damage the OE dampers withing a year.

Realistically you shouldn't drop the car more than 40mm without replacing the dampers yeah!

It puts excessive strain on the factory standard items!
