Spax & Ohlins?

  Clio 172 MK II
Does anyone here has Spax or Ohlins suspension on their Clio?

I am looking for new suspension and I was thinking at first about Bilstein B14, but then Spax and Ohlins run thru my mind :)

But no one in Croatia have that on their car so I would like to hear some words from people who have them.

Spax = rubish

Ohlins supposed to be superb never had any experiance I didn't think they did any Clio stuff there other stuff does have a good reputation though.

Personaly if you don't use it on track and arn't making it a pure track car H and R would be better suited.

Well I spend a lot of time on track so I am looking for something better than my current setup (koni sport + eibach springs)

Also, I am trying to avoid H&R becouse I was not satisfied with them in the past, and also I drove car from my mate that has H&R and my personal opinion is that taking them would be one step backward from my curent setup

I'd always rate the H and R over the setup you have now but each to there own.

Fk's are another option there a bit hard but a lot cheaper.

  Clio 172 Cup
just somebody mentioned it ^^^^

i think they would be bloody expensive, though would work very well!

what is the best suspension set-up for a 172 clio cup (on a budget)?

I need the car lowering, is it just best to go for the springs and leave the standard shocks on?

If you just want to lower it then yes, springs will do.

Stock end off is "best" on a budget otherwsie if you jusr want low springs will do it.

Benn having a look Ohlins do a setups but for rallying and its seriously expensive.

i use it for track days, i will just lower it unless there is something out there that is considerbly better than the standard shocks. what do you reckon?

For a pure track worked car bilstein are good personaly I'd accept the softer springs setup for the H and R or go to leda if you have the money which have advantages.

wheres the best place to buy this stuff from?

Bilstein I believe yozzasport would be about the best H and R shop round john 2 modified supposed to be quite competitive I belive drop loony a message on here see where he recomends

Ohlins you'd have to get friendsly with a Clio rally teamor talk to Renault sport racing in france.

Leda, I was thinking about them also, but if I am correct, someone from here had some problems with them on his Clio cup, from what I remember rear shock absorbers was the problem.

I think your thinking about some magazine which I ignore.

BenR on here knows good suspension being as he used to race cars etc and rate it hightly and has spent his own money on them on his cars and doens't sell the stuff.

Not saying other on here are bias but everyoen i know with ledas are very very happy with them. IMO there no better review.

kw's are always worth a look too. you can get a 2 way competition set built to your requirements for about £1300.

you cant compare ohlins to other road going stuff, its just not even designed to compare.....i wouldnt run them on the road either.
