Speaker Advice

I have around 80 pound to spend second hand on some speakers, unsure on which ones to get...

currently use Eltax on stands for fronts and some crappy JPW's rear... need some new uns, might get myself an amp too!

What kind of speakers you looking for? Just front hifi speakers or full surround?

For hifi: Wharfedale Diamond 9.1 (£150 new) or Tannoy Mercury F1 (£109 new). These are best I can think of from a couple months ago. Best check what hi-fi mag and check in the buyers guide at the back for lastest. The two i mentioned are very highly rated and you should be able to get them around your price range 2nd hand or not much more new (prices above RRP i think).

ps. try what hifi forum at http://whathifi.com/forums/5.aspx. Thats the 'hifi' section, post ur Qs there and editors normally get back to you as well as other ppl in the know.

they will be used in a HiFi system.. I have two front, and two rear, they are also used and connected to my t.v as well as separates!

right, i am going to go for some Acoustic Energy Floor standing speakers!

Looking at the older Technics amps too, use one at the mo and it performs excellent!

Any reccomend a decent amp?
