Speaker polarity?

  Ph1 track 172
is there any way of testing?? have tweeters in the dash, speakers in the doors, and all the wires run to the boot,

i wired it ages ago, then stripped the car out and just tied them under the seat, now i want to add the amp again and have no idea which wire is positive and which is negative.

other than trials and a good ear, is there any way using a multi meter of finding which wire is pos and which is neg for each speaker??

cheers

Get yourself a AA Battery, tape a wire to either end, ideally a red and a black to make it clear. Then touch the wires to the speaker terminals and if the speaker cone moves out then the polarity is as indicated by your wire colours. This doesn't work as well on some tweeters.

Just get a multimeter, put it on either end of one of the two cables and mark that up as the + :)
