speakers in front doors!

i have a pair of kenwood 6.5" left over from my old car, and am gonna try to fit them to the front doors of my 95 clio. Ive worked out it should be possible if i make a 6mm thick spacer ring to fit between the speaker and the dor, but as i havent done this beofre, im wondering if it is ok to drill through the door to get new holes?

have other people got a similar build on their front doors?!

steve

all depends upon the depth of the speakers. but there is nothing to stop you drilling the doors. if they are too deep then you could attempt to make some simple door builds.

no, ive put them in - they stick out by only about 6mm, so i figured the spacer would sort it!

Sorry if the question seems dumb, but after drlling can i just screw the speaker through the door card and through the door, or will i need something else to hold it in place?

thanks for any help,

steve
