Its a mark 1 with lines of gaffa tape up the side mate.

Right I am off to make my 16v a SPECIAL edition, Mmm I think I am going to run a key down the side of the key and Vola SPECIAL edition.

the description on autotrader doesnt list anything that isnt on a "std" mk1 does it? if it was a "limited edition" you would list why it was "limited" wouldnt you - especially if you wanted to con somebody into paying £20+k for it. Renault didnt make a "limited edition" of the Mk1.

Franchises often do theyre own special editions approved from the factory. For instance i knew of a Peugeout dealer which offered the L.A.D upgrades. There was also a post a while back with a special edition Civic type-R with a different exhaust, filter etc.
