speed pulse on a mk1 172

can anyone tell me if theres a speed pulse on a mk1 172 somewhere behind the radio slot?

i know theres one somewhere according to mr haynes....

any info would be great!

Yep the radio gets a speed pulse.
From memory its the same as the mk2 which is detailed here

You can also take it from the back of the speedo or from under the tray in the console from the multi-plug, possibly pin 5, a blue one from memory.

Mk2 is same?

After about July 2002 they used the ABS system for the speedo so some phase 2 cars use it but there not very common.
