speedo having a fit!!!

Just started doing it yesterday! the needle jumps up and down.
Set off to work this morning started doing it then settled down after about 5-10mins anyone know of this problem and how can i fix it :)

also if it does it and i stop and turn the engine off and then restart it again it will stop doing it

cup? - check the speedo connector at the back of the gearbox and the wires coming from it they may be shorting on somthing.

Cheers for the reply matey! yeah a 172 cup. met up with shaun (182Turbo) before and he said it might be a bad connection
 
The speedo sensor on the back of the gearbox on a CUp just have a look as jon said porbaly bad connection.

fingers crossed it should be! just recently had a new inner cv boot fitted so the garage might have knocked it making it have these little fits

it starts fine, but saying that a couple of weeks ago i pulled up outside a mates house and i left the lights on and stereo, I was having the crack with him for about 20-30mins when i came to start it sounded like the starter motor was sticking, as soon as I turned the key it started like a 'clicking' noise, but after a jump start its never done it since??!!!
