Speedo problem and cambelt

Hi there,

I got a bit of a problem with my speedo, after about 2 mins of driving the speedo just stops working. Anyone got any clue what the problem is? I went to renault and they wanted to keep the car for a day as they have never heard of this problem before, supposedly.

While i was there i asked about getting the cambelt done, quoted me £950 - a little excessive i thought, can anybody recommend somewhere in/near the watford area to take it to?

this has been hapening to me aparently the speed sensor/plug on the back of the box comes a bit loose

Mine speedo had an intermittent problem where it would work but then stop completely for a while.

I took it to a car electricians and they replaced a part that clips on the gearbox - the part from Renault was £25.

never got round to doing it yet
