Speedo problem.....

Just wondering if anyone knew what could be the issue or if it is a common problem.

When the car is first started the speedo seems fine for a few minute and then all of a sudden it stops working completley.

Need to sort it soon as its rinsing my petrol at the minute

Likely the speed sensor in the back of the box mate, it can be tricky to get to but it sits right at the back.
