Speedometer probs Clio 172

Hallo I have some problems with my speedometer on clio it's a ph2 2001 number 166 produced

My problem is that the speedometer does not always work, the needle does not move. Sometimes it works perfectly normal.

I have read here on this forum that the signal is from the abs system, But the abs system seems fine.
My real question is if my clio could have a Speedometer Drive ?
I have taken a picture of the top of my gearbox and it looks like there is one?

Hi.

The ph1 172 (which you have) does have a speed drive yes.

You're 100% correct in that is what you need to change, the part is about £30 or so, and is a push fit.

You need to clip the metal heat shield off, the just pull up.

hi mate,

Yours is an early ph2. that is the sensor to change

Hi I have the same problem on my 2001 172, I assume its the same sensor.

8.95 pound on ebay, got quoted over 200 NZD for one here in NZ so will just order and do myself I think!
