Spigot rings

Noticed this a few times now. When removing the front wheels the ring stays in the alloy, I put all the rings in the alloys to begin with. The rears seem to Allways stay on the hub when I remove the wheel.

Maybe a daft question but thought I'd ask why, or is it just one of those things?.

Oh and when removing the front wheels they come off easier than the rears, gentle tap with my foot helps to remove the wheel.

There is obviously more heat up front.
What are the rings? Alloy or Steel?

Plastic Steve. I was just curious really as I would assume the fronts would be more of an ass to remove. And also would re doing the bolts back up in the not correct order contribute to a vibration?

Mine do it on the sparco/Oz 15s. Need metal ones really.

mine do the same on some of the wheels, can't remember if on the front or rear. Didn't bother to solve the problem although it annoys me )
But I'd do it like this:
Firstly I would get some alloy ones - it seems better this way but I may be wrong?
Secondly the ones that stick to the hubs I would file them slightly on the inside little by little untill they went on easily but without having play on the hub

Do you take the fronts off more often by any chance?

Might be worth using a smear of copper grease or similar on the hub, see if it stops, it's something we used to do at Mercedes as their rear wheels seemed to always be a t#@t to get off

Managed to find the issue. After just under 76.7 times the wheels have been balanced they now seem to have been done correctly.

Minimal vibration at the speeds previously and ive had the car chacked for play, which there isnt any.

Very happy with how it drives. Ocd level resumed back to stable.

Always pays to have them balanced by someone who does it properly. Half of these tyre places don't seem to bother.

Quite unlikely, the taper on the bolts is to centre the wheel, you'd run into issues if the bolt or the wheel were damaged though.

My 1.2s do the same, always forget to take a screwdriver to remove them at track!
