Split in brake line

  Ph1 T
I've got a split right at the bottom of my good ridge braided line now I need to get the car to Cheshire tommorow as it's going in for mapping ecu work is there anyway of bodging it just to get me there without losing all fluid?

Once it's there I can order some new and he can replace it or does it simply just need a new one before I go

Dan

Split as in the rubber hose under the braided or just the braid has come away from the connection? Braid just goes over the rubber hose so the actual rubber will probably be fine but don't hold me to it lol

What if was I tried undoing it the other day didn't realise the caliper had to come off and twist with it. So I've twisted it and its split underneath the black rubber sleeve right at the bottom. Gone from having full fluid to none in last few days lol.

Just get it replaced mate, a cheap line will be under £20 and will take 15mins to replace it. Deffo not worth the risk temp fixing, seriously don't even consider it an option.

I know tbh I don't think I would as bodging brakes is just stupid, would you average motor factors sell them do you know mick. GSF ect

Sorry mate I have a few but they are all for my alcon's so I think different fittings as mine are 3/8'ths UNF female. If they will help then you are welcome to get one :) Has is drained fully if so then I'm not sure how you bleed ABS pump

The brakes were still working when I parked it up in garage but only when near enough to floor I was just going to put another line on and put 1.5 litre of fluid in, take it doing that would be wrong?

Cheers think ill try GSF see what they can do definitely need to get down to efi tommorow though get this turbo finally up and running lol

What James said about the ABS would be my biggest worry, I'd imagine EFI/Scoff has CLiP though?

They're not model specific no and most decent diagnostic kit can modulate the ABS pumps on a Renault, you don't need CLIP for that.

I'd be able to tell wouldn't I if there was something wrong with the pump? The brakes feel good as new

Thats what it was doing before and the brakes were non existant.. bled through the caliper where the line had split and now the brakes are perfect.. when bleeding and topping up fluid i bet i only used 1/2l to top up the resevoir must of been plenty left in system.. It was pumping clear fluid through anyway no more air bubbles
