Has anyone actually had a sports cat fitted (k-tec) to their car yet. If so what where the gains, noise & price etc

Thanks in advance :D

Havent bought one, but I think K-tec are being quite realistic when they say gains of up to 7bhp.

Its not bad. but the sports cat for k-tec is about £333.

There is also the option of a de-cat, but im not sure how that works on twin lambda cars (eg mk2 172/Cup)

£333 is that with fitting incl?

I did a search on the forum and someone mentioned about buying the sports cat from motopoint for £50 less

Ye apparently they are made by Janspeed, and sold there, im sure there was a reason for the increased cost but cant remember it offhand.

End of the day if you want increases and to stay legal (no hassle come MOT) then sports cat, otherwise de-cat it is.

Ive had the Sp. cat fitted for a day now, with a stealth system, from K-TEC. Havent had chance to give it some as the roads have been shocking. The sport cat is without doubt allowing the engine to breathe more easily. The revs increase quicker and fall faster than before, when driving or in neutral.

Its been hard to say if I could feel a power increase, I mean, what does a 6-7bhp increase feel like when youve already got a 165+bhp car? Having said that, there feels like there is more tourqe at lower revs when driving slowly.

All in all, Im dead chuffed with both products. The service offered could not be improved! The warranty and after sales on these products is also second to none, with a return to base/replace type policy.

The products might seem a bit expensive, but when you get what Ive mentioned, its cheap. You buy cheap, you get crap!!

^^^^^^^This is only my opinion..

Oh yeah, the system is not aggresively loud but subtl and sporty.

Thanks for that Dan, I wouldnt expect a big difference, if you could sorta notice some difference then that is good. The only real way to tell would be RR or 1/4 mile it.

The sport cat is deffinatly an option for me then..
