Spraying grill

  1.2 16v
I have a non sport and fancy spraying the grill black as its faded blue/gray looks pony! Just wondering which way would be best to attack it? Primer paint lacca? Or any other ways?

  Ford Fiesta ZS 2013
Best would be to go grab some sandpaper some rough, medium and wet and dry very light sandpaper sand the grille down with the rough paper wash it down.
Wait to completely dry, Spray on primer, wait to dry for a day or so to sink in.
Sand down with the medium wash and dry, Give another coat of primer to get the missing bits and the imperfections from the first sand.
Leave to dry.
Once dry get the wet and dry sand paper a bucket of soapy warm water and sand down with the fine wet and dry so its a smooth touch. (Sanding gives the paint something to bite to)
Then go ahead and give your coats of paint give light coats and build up the look dont spray thick coats on!
Spray one light coat on and wait untill touch dry to apply another.
Once your happy with the spray and it looks rich in colour
I would leave it to dry for a day or two before applying lacquer!
Once a day or two has passed give the coat a VERY LIGHT coat of lacquer repeat the process about 3-4 times. To much lacquer on a particular spot will cause it to make the paint drip and drag

and GOOD LUCK its a long process for a DIY aspect but its worth doing for the self achievement.

P.S Use a hairdryer or halogen heater to speed up processes not to close to the paint
