Spraying inlets/plenum help??

  1.2 16v + Arctic 182
Im thinking of spraying the inlets on my 182 just too tidy the bay up, i have black high temp rattle paint, do i need anything such as gaskets? Or can i just unbolt, spray then bolt back on?

thanks

I just unbolted, sprayed and put back on. Use some sand paper and rub it down, then spray it. Make sure you cover up the holes etc.

remove them clean and degrease them, rough up a bit with sandpaper clean again acid etch primer them then paint, ideally you should use new gaskets but you might get away with it

Just be sure not too drop the 'O'ring on the underside of the manifold or you will haave idle problems

Old gasket will be fine mate I've had mine off numerous times and never changed it. Just don't do anything stupid like bend it lol.

as above the old gasket will be fine, the oring sits in a recess on the under side of the plenum it will be obvious once removed

i just removed and cleaned them up and sprayed... f**k rubbing them back and making them smooth... straight on to the bare rough metal and no primer needed then... this is how i done mine

Wat was your method mitch thats not a bad finish
i literally just gave it a scrub with a washing up liquid/water mixture and tooth brush and then just sprayed the silver straight on... was quite impressed as my spraying of other things in the past has been somewhat to be desired lol

Another question how do i go about spraying the part under the inlets?
cam cover i take you mean? people usually just mask the s**t out of the bay 2 avoid overspray... mine will be getting done at a later date when it gets its cambelt done as il remove it then and do it out of the bay
