Spraying matte black?

Has anyone ever done this? I want to know if you mix it like car paint with thinners to spray with a gun? Before all the comments I'm not doing the clio

I did my old driftslag e30 matt black. We used rustoleum paint and diluted it down with white spirit (i think, was a while ago) then hit it with the gun
