Spring Cup on Strut?

Should i have a spring cup on the strut? Just got these this morning from a member on here. When i previous replaced the springs there wasnt a rubber cup for them to sit into but now wondering if there should have been

You just have to use your existing top mounts. New struts don't come withe mounting kit.

this is what im saying mate, the struts currently fitted dont have the bottom cup

The new strut you have is the same shape as mine and is the correct one with no rubber cup. The old strut you have taken off is probably non OE or an older design.

Mine didnt have the rubber base on them either when i tool them off so i am assuming it is not meant to be there....

Maybe a non sport clio or something in the pics?
