Spring painting

Car  Golf GTD Mk7
Anyone know what sort of paint should be used to cover up rust on springs? Don't want to put something on that will just flake off? Failing that, would powder coating be ok?

hammerite smooth??

though could possible crack due to the movement of the metal

The springs normally have an acryllic sort of thing covering them, due to the movement, iirc. Like a plasticy/rubbery covering.

Black tape ftw.

lol black tape. it's just to cover any rust that's started on them thats all. Thought acrylic based paint (due to flexibility) might be an option. Don't think you can get this apart from stuff you use for art :S

Me neither, but I seriously would use black duct tape. Cheap as chips, and you'll never know when they're up on the car!

Was toying around with getting them powder coated a nice colour, but might just go for budget tape jobbie :approve:
