Springs or Coilovers?

  Alfa GT Cloverleaf
I'd get coilovers if you want to go any lower than around 30mm.
I wouldnt of thought 60mm springs would be great for your dampers

You can't even get 60mm apex can you? Fixed damping Coilovers are as bad springs and shocks in my experience.

yes the op is looking for non RS fitment, in which case you wont get any lowering springs that match the damping of the oe dampers so better to go coilovers or a full kit but going full kit is much the same price with no height adjustment obviously

edit: my bilstein B14's wernt as bad as any spring and shock combo imo of course! ;)

I had 60mm Spaxx springs on my car and the shocks lasted all of 2 months. (I do a hell of a lot of driving though) , gone to coilovers and they are absolutely fine for what I want them for (lows, nothing more, nothing less.) I've got a set of v-Maxx coilovers which cost me like £180 and I've had them on the car for about maybe 8k miles now and they are still fine. Up to you though mate. Just please don't run 60mm springs and standard shocks - almost isn't worth the hassle fitting them as you'll soon be taking it all apart again.

Sorry to jump on your thread but which would people recomend more:

35mm PI Springs
40mm Apex springs
TA Technics Coilovers set to about 40mm?

  Mental 172 Cup
You don't care what the car handles like? If you just want it low but don't care about handling then cheap coilovers will be okay, but nothing is going to be comfortable, it won't be bad but it'll be stiffer otherwise itll bottom out. But lets face it, the roads in the UK make any car a rough ride..

I managed to pick up a set 2nd hand set for that price which were a year old :) they were rated very highly (did my research beforehand) and they are definatley good! Keep an eye on ebay, seen a few sets come and go cheap :)
