spun the valver :S

  20VT Clio & 9-5 HOT

was goin round a massive roundabout last night, roads were damp, was doing about 30mph (not fast for the roundabout size), when the corner of the roundabout came i gently turned, and the rear just went and did a 180 and ended up facing an ambulance and 2 cars going round it!

Been meaning to change the crappy rear tyres!

scary

hehe, love em, ok i only haver a 1.2 but on islands engine size reallyu dont matter, although on mine the front end tends to slide out before the back, so you get some warning, and can either keep going and go sideways, or correct it

Remember guys.... new tyres on the back every time.....when you wear the fronts out, rear wheels to front and new tyres to back.... it will minimise issues like this, and then you can have some controllable fun with the back end coming out when you want it to.

I would disagree there John, i see where youre coming from with oversteer being dangerous to the inexperienced compared to understeer but not everybody rags their car around, its better to have the most grip at the front where its going to be 99% of the time.

Hmmmm well, it is known (afaik) to be standard practice with FWD if youre only changing tyres on one axle.

my dad got a scorpio v6 estate this weekend and managed to spin in the wet flooring it away from some traffic lights into a tight corner, Rear wheel drive is great!:D

think its cos i still got sh*tty 185 cheap tyres on the back that came on the wheels. changed the fronts but being a poor student couldnt afford the backs too.

only time the back end of my valevr has started to go was in the wet when the front was lowered and the back standard, so fairly high up.

Now its lowered youd have to be on a suicide mission to get the back out, maybe I dont go fast enough?
