sqeaks and rattles

the 200 is riddled with squeaks,rattles and clunks already.not impressed!!

had my 197 for 20k and was very well built. feels like im back in my ST lol

knocking coming from he suspension which renault tells me is nothing :S

really annoying vibration coming from dash between 3500-4000rpm and again about 6000rpm

a rattle from the cenrte console and another from my pasanger door card i think its driving me mental lol

My 172 with coilies and uprated engine mounts doesn't rattle much, just a glovebox door that makes a sound like a cricket at idle!

God that must be annoying on a brand new motor Mine rattles like f**k but I would expect that as it gets abuse and the coilovers dont help with the rattles!

As above though, go in and have a firm word

must just be yours. I only have one bad noise coming from mine and its a funny popping and puffing noise from the exhaust when idling

From what I've read on here, you're better contactin Renault UK direct about any warranty problems. Dealers, being dealers, are pish.

good news is that the ratle from the passenger side has decided to sort itself

Can you elaborate on the suspension knocking? I get a slight knocking from my steering column when turning in my street and also on some corners. I think this is a common fault. Its like a very small bit of movement which is felt through the steering...i had similar rattles to you aswell. Pain in the backside it was, but i took the car to a good dealer and they took it all apart regreased around everything and put it back together. It certainly did the job as mines solid now.

p.s you may find rattles are worse in rain and cold weather. Im just guessing here but im sure the technician said to me that in hotter weather the plastic expands more so rattles less.

You gota love renault bullshit
-6 to +32 mines fine so do see what temps have to do with it.
If the interior squeaks & rattles now it's only going to get worse, fact

That slight knock is the track rod end (inner joint). Mine does it. Very common on the passenger side for some reason!!!

Only problem i have with my 197 is a slight rattle from the glove box which i found out yesterday was coming from the set of locking wheel nut key/bolts i have in there.

the knock is coming from the driver side i thought it was top mount or anti roll bar bush

its on the rebound after hitting potholes or a bumpy road etc,goes away after about 40mph or so.so im reckoning its soething that can keep up as the bumps get quicker if that makes sense lol
