Squeaking from engine!!

At low speed i can hear a squeaking noise coming from the engine bay.

It dissapears if i dip the clutch.

Could this be the fan belt slipping?

check gearbox oil level.

Gearbox oil is fine

Is there anything else it could be?

It sounds like its coming from the drivers side of the engine

when was the fan belt last changed?

could be a pulley if its a squeek, fanbelt is more likely to make a squeel.

not sure wen it was changed....the noise dissapears as soon as i dip the clutch so it cant be the belt

Got to drive 180 miles to milton keynes tomorrow so i want to make sure it aint anything serious

The squeaking dissapeared for a few days but is now back and its louder

The strange thing is that it dissapears when i dip the clutch but when i bring the clutch back up again u can hear it again

Only seems to happen at low speeds
Any other ideas guys??

My car makes the odd chicken type cheep sound ever since the cam/aux belt were changed. Not sure if its linked, but its getting annoying.

Its not really a whining noise....more of a squeak...as if sumthing is loose

My mk1 clio 16v has recently developed a similar problem... on the passenger side?!? Especially when going slow...

belt me thinks mat,e iv got exactly the sdame, and it goes when i dip the cluthc. only really noticing it when its stasrted from really cold
