squeaking from my girlfriends 1.2

She has an older Clio, about 1995/1996 and as shes driving now and then theres a squeaking noise from around the front wheel on drivers side. Its a noise that makes you think that something isn't oiled and is rubbing against something else. Obviously there isnt much down there that would need oil so any ideas? Wheel bearing perhaps?
