I took my 182 in to Sunwins , Preston today fot them to look and hopefully fix the front end squeaking , sounded like something needed oiling , that kinda sound . Also to get em to look at the coolant temp sensor , since its decided to do a little dance on the temp guage 3 times in the last couple of weeks .
So i went to pick the car up , the girl on the phone said they had torqued up the subframe :S and sorted out the temp sensor .
So off i go , on my way home 200 yards or so down the road and lo and behold it starts squeaking again . ( By the way i've got my angry head on as well , lol ) So straight back on the phone , told em its still doing it . She put me through to the service manager , a weasley looking guy who said can i bring it back and i'll go out in the car with ya . Okay i said , so on the way back the squeaking disapears , lol , nowi'm thinking i'm gonna look like a prize pillock complaining about fcuk all .
So i took it back anyway and he jumped in , at this stage i had to confess that the squeaking had stopped , lol . So asked him about what they had done .
He said that they had torqued up the subframe . So i said " was there something loose "? He said " no " .So i'm thinking if its not loose why did ya tighten it up . Anyway , the squeaking does seem to have gone .
He then proceeded to tell me its probably the brake pads , they squeak alot , so i told him i've checked the brake pads , greased the backs etc .. and its not them ( i've even tried a different set of calipers and it still squeaked )
Then he told me all cars squeak , his megane cabriolet squeaks . I said i know that Renaults are renowned for their rattles , in which he seemed to take offence , he then told me his mate has a Merc and that rattles , as if to say don't **** of Renaults , lol .
Back to the coolant temp sensor . I asked if they had fixed it . He said it had probably been looked at on the computer and reinitialised . Now i'm thinking wtf is this bloke on about , too much bullsh*t here . Then he said " oh its an import isn't it " ? I said " yes " . He said that they are probably initialised differently .
Anyway , thats my experience of Sunwin Renault at Preston .
Also i ran out of petrol in the Modus courtesey car on the way back , in the middle of a big crossroads at sometraffic lights in the middle of Preston in rushhour traffic . So i phoned Sunwins and they said it was my responsibilty , phone the AA .Luckily 2 blokes in a recovery truck drivinfg past towed me to a petrol station so i slipped em a tenner , lol .
Renaults and their dealerships . Dont ya just love em !!
