Squeaky brakes

  172 cup,s2 rs turbo

brake dust, uneven wear on the pad/disc surface, corrosion on the discs and some cheaper brand pads can cause it.

squeaks can also be caused by the pads vibrating thats why car makers fit shims on some models.

id take them out and try copper grease on the back, sounds daft but often helps. costs about £4 a tube

remove the pads, clean up the pad material surface, copper grease the back of the pads and grease all caliper slides etc.rebuild and try it.there is also a paste that you can paint on the pad surface to help prevent squeal.not excellant but has been known to work, having said that though some new pads might only cost a little more than the paste so new pads would be more economical.

do as Jay says, with the calipers too, put grease on the bits of the calipers that the edge of the pads touch, stopped my squeaky brakes. Dont go overboard with it though, you dont want it getting on the pads or discs.

In most cases incorrect pad placement on teh disc, typically from the leading edge touching first and vibrating the pad.

Just do what Jay said, as the slides tend to stick on the front slide, it corrodes easier than the rears for some reasons, probably exposure.
