Squealing metallic noise when turning left?!

Noticed this recently, get a harsh dry squealing noise from around my drivers side front wheel when turning left whilst driving slow into my street/drive.
Kind of like that harsh noise you get scraping fingernails on a blackboard but more metallic!!??

Brakes - but why only when I'm turning?

Wheel bearing? Doesn't sound like a hum more a screech.

mine does the same but it's when turning left and right.

mine did this briefly for a couple hours last week, havent driven it since. dont tend to through the week cos im always at work and in the van. i put it down to brakes needed to be changed, cos the front ones are deffo on way out. getting new ones fitted saturday so hopefully will stop it

Hmmmm hope it isn't the discs! Just had them replaced!

Just fitted my Eibachs tonight and noticed one of the springs kept clunking as it was moving in it's seat. Took it apart again to notice one of the top mounts had sort of shattered!

Maybe this had something to do with that squeaking?! If the spring wasn't sat tight in the cup?

Anyone got a spare pair of top mounts I can collect tomorrow?!

New top mounts (well 2nd hand but I was desperate so they were fitted Sunday) fitted and the noise has gone!

Sorted. The drivers side bearing had completely collapsed.

So bearings and top mounts changed and all noises gone ?

Yeah. No squealing whatsoever. Not sure how much new top mount kits are? Only looked on eBay and they're about £70??! Got a pair off a local member on here on Sunday from a 172 he is breaking for a fiver. All the ball bearings just dropped to the floor when we took the old one off - got rid of the clanking sound of the springs moving in the cups too.
