ST TDCi iPod input

  Listerine & Poledo
Afternoon CS people.

Due to the 172 looking like it's going to cost its own worth in various repairs I'm eyeing up practical, decent and relatively inexpensive replacement motors.

After running a company Mondeo Zetec for a while, I've been researching ST TDCi's, althoguh if i can convince myself I dont do the mileage then a ST220 could also be on the cards.

I've priced up all the usual running costs and now looking at a couple of really petty niggles. Can one of you ICE experts point me straight.

The Sony unit in the ST's looks decent enough, but aside from the jack-plug input or an FM transmitter I cant find a way of hooking up an iPod' properly' (to control from headunit etc.). So;-

- Is there a system to hook an iPod into the existing unit
- is the Sony unit any good really, in comparison to bolting in my Alpine HU?
- Would I be better off leaving the Sony as is and hook in the parrott handsfree kit that's got iPod input?

And, slightly differently
- Is it worth changing the standard speakers if they're not going to get amp'd
- WIll a 200w pioneer active sub box be a waste of time in the boot?

Thanks all
