stalk control & display plug for Alpine IDA-X305 HELP Please

I've got an Alpina IDA-X305 and had it fitted in my clio 182 which works fine the only thing that is annoying is that I bought an adapter from someone on the Trophy website which was an alpine product ( there was even pics of it working in the car with the same stereo! )

I took it to get it fitted and the car audio shop ( dont know if i can name names! lol ) wasn't sure how to fit it and tried various combinations but couldn't get it to work and just left it plugged in.

I called them the other day and they say they are finding it hard to find a connecter for the display but can get one JUST for the stalk at a cost of about £65!!

Has anyone had any experience with this head unit in a clio and fitted adapters so the display and stalk still work?
