Stalling Issues

I have a 172 and recently its started to stall when its under heavy load. When I am in traffic it struggles idling, the idle will drop right down then suddenly sort itself out. Other times it just completely drops and stalls, its starting to do it at junctions now so I am finding myself having to keep the revs on. It also does it when I am parking up, can feel the car shudder like its going to stall.

I don't know if its part of the same problem, but when setting off and just driving normally changing through the gears (normally in second gear). Its seems to hesitate, its like I still have my clutch half in but I don't if that makes sense. All I know is that I hate driving it at the moment and when I am in traffic its awful! Any ideas what it could be?

Check all the intake pipes and manifold for cracks?

Use a good code reader like Clip/RSTuner or Snap-on to find out what is going on.
Front O2 sensor can be the culprit here.

Thanks fastchip, we have use a snap - on code reader and it only found one fault, this was a brake sensor?. I am beginning to think it could be anything, could it be something as simple as the spark plugs?

Anybody have the same issue as this?. My car is also very lump when its first started, is that normal as I thought it was?
