Standard exhaust 172? Cat back.

Where do I get one from and how much?

I know people have been talking loads about they cost £400+ from Renault. Which is why I got a stainless with lifetime guarantee when my backbox fell off.

Thinking of taking my Powerflow Stealth off and putting back to standard, then car may be for sale.

Someone says there are no patterns available for the Renault type OEM one.

Your right in saying there are no patterns available for the 172 & 182.....real pain in the ass.

I'm sure there must be plenty of people on here that have removed their standard exhausts and still have them knocking about....I'd put a message in the wanted section.

You could also try a Renault specific breakers yard

I'd imagine it would be cheaper to get another Powerflow done, but ultra quiet.

Kwikfit etc do not do them

I think you could be right about getting another made up unless you can find a second hand OE one in good condtion (probably rare as most have fallen off!).

This ones got 2 silencers, I heard the Blueflames have 3?

Although i also heard that the lads who had their Blueflames for the 172 in the group buy thought they were VERY LOUD!:S

How loud is it then? It may not to be your preference but bear in mind for many people a little bit more noise is a positive thing. I wouldn't waste your money replacing it as it could be a USP when the Clio is up for sale.

Just a bit boomy at low revs. Think I'll take it back to Powerflow next weekend and see if they can check the welds and quieten it down a bit, maybe go for that 3rd silencer where the renault resonator is usually, on the up sweep before going over the axle just in front of the back box.

The sound at high revs is superb!

As i said, that could be a clincher. With Clios coming down to reasonable prices for your average 19/20 year old they'll probably be begging daddy to get get it for them!

I would sooner give someone £100 off the car rather than spend £300 'fixing' the exhaust.'

Going back to powerflow. He's gonna have a look at it, check for pinholes in the welding.

Bugger the whole thing I'm going to pmurray at RS tuning for a re-map.

That should smooth things out.
