Standard head unit and mp3 connector

Hi I bought my gf a aftermarket mp3 player conector that ataches to the cd changer port on the standard head unit (she has a fm transmiter at the moment but it is bawz). It is for her birthday so it will be a few days before I can fit it. I started worrying (yes superfast dan) that the standard head unit might not have the cd changer conector as standard. the car is a mk2 ph2 clio anyone know if this will be ok?

Any one got one of these? Does it add an extra option to the radio and cd player when selecting the source?
